I am open to receiving book review requests from authors, agents, publicists, and publishing companies. I am willing to participate in blog tours or be part of a book launch team.
All book review requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. The genres I prefer are:
- Historical Fiction
- Historical Nonfiction
- Historical Mystery
- Historical Romance (especially Romantic Suspense)
- Historical Women’s Literature
- Historical Christian Fiction
- Historical Gothic Romance
If a book does not fall within these categories, it is possible that I will not consider reviewing it. However, you are welcome to submit it for consideration. Please note that my favorite genres of book are historical, women-centered fiction or nonfiction; historical mystery; and historical gothic romance.
I am under no obligation to accept every book request I receive. Some requests will be accepted and others will be declined. This is a decision that I make at my own discretion.
I am under no obligation to review all books that are sent to me. If a book I read falls under a two-star rating, I will not write a review because I try to keep my reviews positive. If a book receives at least two stars, it means that there was something positive about it. If a book receives one star, it means that there wasn’t much I enjoyed about it. For this reason, I won’t write a review.
When submitting a book review request, you acknowledge that I am not obligated in any way to write a positive review. I will write an honest review because readers deserve no less than that.
I do not receive remuneration for my book reviews. Unless under a tight deadline such as a book blog tour or book launch, I review all books according to my own timeline. For books that are set to be published soon, I will try my best to have the review ready to go for the date of publication.
I will not review the books of authors who act in an unprofessional manner. The expectation is that the author acts professionally regardless of the rating/review they receive from the reader. I will not engage with authors who try to argue with me or become combative about my ratings/reviews.
As a book reviewer and author, I believe in writing reviews respectfully. I have no interest in trashing an author or their book. This is unprofessional conduct. So, my goal is to write honest and constructive reviews. At the end of the day, I respect authors and the work they put into their books. Even though I may not like every single book I read, I appreciate the opportunity to read the books I do. If you want to learn more about my book review process, click here.
